Online | Mastering the Mind with Asanas – ENGLISH

This course is a reminder that the practice of asana is all too often misunderstood to be a physical practice. Last series we explored 3D yoga, the multidimensional asana.

Mastering the mind is a continuation of the previous theme, which serves the purpose of why yoga practice was founded and introduced by the seers of ancient times.

The body is our instrument, the mind/body go through a transformation, to experience what is beyond both the body and the mind. The same way a musician uses an instrument to express themselves through music. Music, like yoga, touches us in ways that words can not. The ability of music and yoga is to go straight to the heart, so we experience deeper feelings and states of altered consciousness. Whatever we experience internally eventually expresses its self externally by the way we behave and live in the outer world.

Receive the gift of yoga and offer it to the world around you, share with everyone you encounter. The world takes care of those who express this way of life.

Props Requirement

1 Mat, 2 Blocks, 2 Belts, 4 Blankets,1 Bolster, 1 Chair.

Online | Yoga Today going forward Workshop – ENGLISH

Series of 4 workshops (28.06. | 05.07. | 12.07. | 19.07.).
These can be booked individually at the price of $70 per workshop.

In this 4 week course I want to approach the practice with the intention of how do we go forward with our practice? Recognising where it has come from and the transition required going forward. We have to consider several things.

In the west we came to yoga via asana and therefor neglecting or ignoring of the Yamas and Niyamas. The Yamas and Niyamas are important to understand from a big picture point of view.

Small picture they are the base of a systemic practice, progressively and sequentially structured with the intention to lead each and every practitioner to their own path and way of living according to the precepts of yoga. We can memorise, discuss the Y/N but ultimately we have apply them.

Applying the Y/N are the building blocks to the approach to the asana. They establish discipline and level of conscious awareness which is then applied to the practice of asana.

From a small picture perspective they appear to be some rules to follow, but bigger picture they represent the theoretical building blocks to mastering the mind which is then practices and tested during asana practice.

Together they represent the philosophy of yoga.
